American Repertory Ballet performs regularly throughout the state and has toured both nationally and internationally. The company’s repertory includes established masterpieces and cutting-edge works by distinguished choreographers such as Twyla Tharp, Val Caniparoli, Kirk Peterson, Dominique Dumais, Susan Hadley, Philip Jerry, Harrison McEldowney, Amy Seiwert, Susan Shields, Melissa Barak, Elaine Kudo and former Artistic Directors Graham Lustig and Septime Webre.

ARB has been recognized locally, regionally and nationally for its leadership role in the dance community through its artistic and educational programs. ARB was voted the Jersey Arts People's Choice for "Favorite Dance Company" in 2008 and has been designated a "Major Arts Institution" by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts consistently since 1987. ARB has also won acclaim from internationally respected dance critics, and has been recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts for its revivals of Twyla Tharp’s Octet and Sinatra Suite.
