Educational Assembly Programs
American Repertory Ballet maintains a repertoire of educational assembly programs that are 45 minutes in length and fit easily into a single class period. ARB dancers take students through both classical and contemporary works and conclude each performance with a question and answer session.
Sneak Peek is geared toward grades 5 – 12 and provides students with an exciting glimpse into the exhilarating world of dance! Professional dancers from American Repertory Ballet perform highlights of athletic and thrilling choreography from the current season, while giving students insight into how the choreography was structured.
A holiday season favorite! ARB's educational performance of The Nutcracker allows students to learn the history and language of ballet, the life of a professional dancer, and theater etiquette through the story of The Nutcracker told in special excerpts. The program concludes with a question and answer session and is designed to provide students with a foundation on which to build an understanding of all related art forms, including music and visual arts.
Educational Residencies
The American Repertory Ballet and ARB dance specialists collaborate with schools to create intensive, interactive residencies that address specific curriculum requirements and are appropriately tailored to the intended age group. The ARB residency program uses dance as an effective tool in order to engage children in unique ways. The program encourages critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, innovation, and leadership.
